As a temporary measure due to COVID-19, SIRI will not issue residence permits for students, interns and au pairs or their accompanying family members

05.02.2021  07:53

It has been decided by the Danish Ministry of Immigration and Integration that residence permit applications for study (incl. Ph.D), internship, volunteers and au pair as well as their accompanying family members will be refused by SIRI as of 3 February. This is resolved since these purposes are currently not considered worthy purposes for entering Denmark. Read more here.

This means that pending applications and applications sent from 3 February for above purposes will be refused.

The applicants are therefore recommended to postpone handing in their applications. The temporary executive order from the Ministry of Immigration and Integration is set to expire on 1 March 2021, but could be extended depending on whether the current entry restrictions are extended. This temporary measure has been extended until 15 April 2021.

For further questions regarding applications for these purposes, you may contact the Ministry of Immigration and Integration at  New to Denmark (nyidanmark.dk)

The Ministry of Immigration and Integration will refund its fee to the applicants, if the refusal is made on the basis of temporary executive order.
